Gracie Abrams has officially signaled the start of her new era, announcing her new album, Daughter from Hell. Fans have been patiently awaiting new material from the singer since her sophomore album, The Secret of Us, came out in 2024, and they are finally getting something to look forward to. On May 1, Abrams announced on an Instagram post that her new single “Hit the Wall” will hit streaming services on Thursday (May 14) at 5 p.m. PT, signing the caption with “DFH.”

Abrams made another Instagram post on May 9 of a video clip showing red and blue lights, alternately flashing on her stoic face. The camera slowly zooms in as the instrumental to “Hit the Wall” plays. The caption “Thursday” implies that the May 14 single release will accompany a music video. If this wasn’t enough to send fans over the edge in anticipation, on Monday (May 11), the singer posted the album cover for her third studio album, Daughter from Hell, which shows a close-up of her face with an unyielding gaze. She announced in her Instagram caption that the album will release July 17, saying, “Whoa whoa whoa, freaking out. I am so ready for it to be yours.”

The album will feature 16 tracks, including the “Hit the Wall” single, according to the Spotify Daughter From Hell countdown page. The album is produced by Aaron Dessner, who has also worked on her 2023 debut album Good Riddance and 2024 album Secret of Us. Abrams’ online store now includes Daughter from Hell vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and merchandise, including a hoodie, baby tee, and t-shirt.

With the physical albums and merchandise available for pre-order, the commotion continues to build. Abrams added to the hype of the album’s release, telling the Hollywood Reporter, “It’s definitely my favorite music I’ve ever made, and I feel very closely connected to it,” she says. “I appreciate so much that these albums are time capsules of where I’m at in my life at any given point, but right now it does feel very like me.” Listeners are excited to hear the new single and are even more thrilled to connect with the singer when the new album drops.
